Steve Ewing
St. Louis-based musician Steve Ewing is best known as the golden voice behind the seven piece powerhouse The Urge. Formed in high school back in late 80’s, The Urge took their eclectic mix of punk, reggae, hip hop, and ska, and sent a sonic shockwave from the Midwest that can still be felt to this day.
Since The Urge, Steve has been involved in a multitude of projects including production work for artists such as Lojic, Egress, and many others. However, the passion still lies in performing and he tears it up onstage every chance he gets. You can find him performing across the country with The Urge, the Steve Ewing Band, the Steve Ewing Duo, and Master Blaster.

Farshid Etniko
Through his travels, Farshid Soltanshahi accumulated the music of the world, making it his own, weaving the variety of styles and influences together into a sound that is unique and familiar. His band, Farshid Etniko is an ensemble that performs Latin, popular Jazz standards, as well as compositions that blend Middle Eastern & Flamenco influences with Latin beats and American Blues sensibilities.

Diesel Island
Making their first appearance on the Hawken House lawn, Diesel Island will perform their brand of 1970s outlaw country music. The band formed in 2004 as a just-for-fun side project where key members of the Bottle Rockets could relax and play some classic country faves on their own terms. Now with a CD of original songs, the band is proud to make their debut in Webster Groves.
Monday September 11th, 2023 7-9 p.m.
Klose Kuarters
Our baby-boomer show of the year also makes its first appearance at the Hawken House Concert Series. Klose Kuarters, led by Mark Klose of KSHE 95, will bring you all of the baby-boomer rock standards of the 1960s and ’70s.
