This booking request will place a temporary hold on a date, the “booked” dates represent signed and paid-for contracted events. A temporary hold is valid for up to seven (7) days, if a request is not verified by the requesting person – the pending date will be removed, making the date available once again. SO, if your desired date shows as pending – please check back soon, it may become available! You should receive an email from the Hearth Room Manager by the end of the next business day – if not, we suggest you check your “junk” or “spam” folder.
The absolute best thing about The Hearth Room is that it is truly a blank canvas just waiting for your creative event design. While we do have a preferred caterer list, we do not have any restrictions on outside food and beverage (this includes alcohol).
Because we are a non-profit-run venue, we have made it part of our mission to keep this space financially accessible and that means that if you’re looking for a place to have a luxury event on a budget, we are a “must-see” space!
The Hearth Room provides many event essentials including:
• 60″ Round tables and chairs for 100 guests (maximum capacity is 150)
• A selection of 6ft. and 8ft. rectangle tables
• Access to the patio and courtyard
• Kitchen access
• Garbage receptacles and liners
• Rolling bar
• Restroom supplies

The patio is specifically included in the rental of the Hearth Room at Historic Hawken House; however, many renters choose to utilize the public park area in between the Hearth Room and the raised-bed Herb Garden, which we refer to as “the Courtyard.”
The construction on the rear porch of the Historic Hawken House is FINALLY beginning in April of 2023!
It is our hope that the construction will have little impact on your plans as the project should hopefully not take long to complete and the construction will not affect events in the evenings or weekends.
Renters should likely make plans to avoid the Herb Garden area for their events.
The City of Webster Groves parks manager has assured the Historical Society that they plan to regularly mow the lawn and courtyard areas, however, this is 100% out of our control as the Historic Site is in a publicly maintained park and we are at the whim of their available crews. Our volunteers and those of the Webster Groves Herb Society do their very best to maintain the immediate historical site grounds with the resources and weather limitations we have. Your grace and patience with this situation are greatly appreciated.
