Do you own an old home in Webster Groves? Is it over 100 years old? Then you can apply for a popular Century Home Plaque!
For more than fifty years, the Webster Groves Historical Society has provided residents a way to honor their century homes with a custom-made plaque to be installed on the front of their celebrated residences. The cost of the plaque is $150, which includes a one-year membership in the Webster Groves Historical Society.
Although the Webster Groves Historical Society does not conduct research for people, we are happy to schedule time for you to come by the Archives and conduct your own research with the guidance of one of our volunteer curators. We also have books available for purchase in our gift shop that may be of assistance. However, we urge everyone to make your first step a visit the Webster Groves Public Library, which has established a helpful local history center in the lower level reference room. In seeking specific legal documents, please visit the office of the St. Louis County Recorder of Deeds at the Courthouse in Clayton; this link provides you with basic information about their services: https://www.stlouisco.com/Your-Government/Revenue/Recorder-of-Deeds-Division.
